The 3-Fold Rivet also know as the 'Tri-Fold' is ideal for soft & porous materials, as this rivet folds into 3 parts (know as 'pressure plates') on the blind-side during installation. The 3 'pressure plates' distribute the clamping force evenly onto the riveted material, and prevents the rivet from being pulled through brittle, soft or easily deformed materials.
